A few weeks ago, I attended a store tour and lunch sponsored by CVS. I do much of my shopping at CVS, but still learned so much that I didn’t know about CVS. With so many different offers and sales, it’s definitely worth visiting frequently to get the best deals.

CVS Shopping: Things You May Not Know

CVS Shopping

Basic CVS Shopping Tips

  • Most CVS shoppers know that you should sign up for the ExtraCare card for great deals. Not only will you get coupons, you’ll also be able to accrue ExtraBucks, which you can use to purchase anything in the store.
  • You can also sign up for emails to get deals right in your inbox.
  • I’d definitely recommend checking the weekly sales in advance of your visit. You can link your card, check the weekly ad, and even see when something you’ve purchased in the past is now on sale.
  • If an ExtraBuck coupon does print on your receipt – save it! They can’t be reprinted.

Get Coupons Via the App

CVS’s huge receipts loaded with coupons are pretty infamous, but did you know that you can get CVS coupons via the app? Instead of scanning your ExtraCare card in the store, just install the app, and send your coupons right to the app. You can also have your ExtraCare card scanned from the app, instead of carrying the card.

CVS sells premium brands

The selection varies at each CVS, but the one we toured in Waltham, MA has this amazing selection of premium skin care products right on the shelf. They also have a nice selection of premium hair care products as well.

Things You May Not Know About Shopping at CVS

CVS is making a big effort to add healthy foods to their shelves. In some stores, you’ll find a selection of grab and go items that are perfect if you are out running errands and don’t have time to stop and eat. You’ll also see tags on their shelves showing which foods are heart healthy, sugar free, gluten free, non-GMO project verified, and more. CVS’s brand – CVS Gold Emblem Abound, is offered at a great price.

You can find health products by some specific ailments

I first noticed the arthritis section when I was recently diagnosed with arthritis in my knees. It was so easy to find the products that I needed, in one section of the store.

Natural products are offered

CVS has a great selection of natural products – from health products to beauty products. Depending on the store, you’ll often find them shelved together and labeled.

Do you stop at CVS?
